Addiction is a significant public health issue in the United States, affecting millions of individuals and their families. Approximately 21 million Americans have at least one addiction, but only about 10% receive treatment. Alcohol and drug addiction cost the U.S. economy over $600 billion annually and drug overdose deaths have more than tripled since 1990.
Our Story
When men struggle with addiction and homelessness, the typically prescribed solution is detox and rehab. There is plenty of support for rehabilitation programs throughout the country as well as group meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous which are fabulous for achieving and maintaining sobriety.
However, we have found that many men end up going through this cycle multiple times. We decided to ask why.
The answer is vastly complex. However, there is one clear gap in the cycle. Many men, after living the downward spiral of addiction for years in and out of rehabs have need of healing in more than just the physical and mental aspects of their lives. They almost all need domestic and vocational help as well.
After graduating from an in-patient rehabilitation program, looking good and feeling good, many of them are still homeless, jobless, and broke. The first year of sobriety after rehab is a critical time where they must focus on employment and housing in order to not simply fall straight back into the welcoming abyss.
We found the typical halfway house/sober living arrangements available to these men to be, at best, lacking in the necessary support, and approaching predatory, at worst. This is due to the fact that the typical facility requires a deposit on day one. This does not allow for any time to get situated, reestablish a driver’s license (many owe steep fines), find proper transportation to and from work, and finding a new job.
Our model is different. Through generous donations from our supporters, we allow incoming men to move in and stay for FREE until they have time to find a new job. We believe that this difference is key to supporting sobriety during what would otherwise be a very vulnerable and stressful moment in early sobriety.

Housing
We provide a safe, clean, affordable, and sober living environment. We stand out from many other halfway house/sober living environments by not requiring men to pay rent until they are gainfully employed and receive their first paycheck.
Vocational
We provide individualized, one-on-one support for men seeking to become contributing members of society again through local connections with business that are willing to work with men in our program.
Transportation
We work together with men in the program as well as local volunteers to provide short-term transportation to work until they can provide for themselves and many of them decide give back in this way!

Would you be willing to help?
We are almost always full to capacity and must turn many desperate men away. Unfortunately, a lot of them will repeat the cycle again until they can receive the necessary support.
We are actively expanding our housing capacity through the purchase of a new home. Your gift to this cause can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE and could very well save someone’s life.
